Imagination Applied Lab
From a single keynote to an ongoing creative partnership, every engagement brings a director's craft to your team's AI work. Pick your entry point and scale up as you see results—each one builds on the last.
AI can make almost anything. The harder question is what is worth making. I help leaders direct imagination, judgment, people, and technology toward work that matters.
I'm Josh Penzell—a keynote speaker, theater director, and the founder of Imagination Applied. My work is about Artistic Intelligence: our capacity to interpret what is happening, imagine what does not yet exist, judge what is worth making, and direct people and technology toward it. Most organizations treat change like a finished film: perfect the plan, launch it, and hope reality cooperates. I would rather run it like a rehearsal—make the idea visible, try it while the cost of being wrong is low, notice what happens, and revise. I previously served as VP of AI Innovation & Strategy at ELB Learning and have worked across learning and enablement in organizations including Amazon Alexa and Skillsoft. I hold an MFA in Theater Directing from Brooklyn College, an MBA from the University of Illinois, and a BS from Northwestern, and I write for TD Magazine.
